Cowbell has appointed Gerry Power as General Manager, Australia, marking an important step in the company's expansion in the local market.
This newly created role reflects Cowbell's commitment to building a scaled, broker-focused cyber insurance business in Australia. Gerry will lead market development, distribution strategy and the build-out of local operations, working closely with brokers to deliver cyber insurance solutions that respond to today's evolving digital risks.
He will work alongside Anthony Wall, Head of Underwriting, Australia, to support disciplined underwriting and alignment with Cowbell's global risk approach.
Cowbell's growth in Australia forms part of its broader international strategy, complementing its established presence in the United States, United Kingdom and India.
Gerry brings more than 35 years' experience across underwriting, distribution and governance. He has built and scaled professional risk businesses through multiple market cycles and has deep relationships across the Australian broker market.

Gerry Power brings more than 35 years of experience across underwriting, distribution, professional risks and insurance governance in the Australian market. He has built and scaled specialist insurance businesses, led underwriting operations, and developed cyber and professional risks capabilities across multiple market cycles. He also brings deep expertise in AFSL governance, underwriting agency operations and broker distribution strategy, with strong relationships across Australia's broker and underwriting community.
Prior to leading Cowbell Australia, Gerry held senior leadership roles with Emergence Insurance, CGU, AMP and Dexta Corporation/Stardex Insurance Group. As Head of Sales at Emergence, he helped grow the business into one of Australia's leading specialist cyber underwriting agencies. At CGU, he led its entry into the Australian cyber insurance market as Senior Underwriter and Cyber Subject Matter Expert, underwriting professional lines including cyber, professional indemnity, management liability and directors' and officers' liability.
Earlier in his career, Gerry held senior executive and shareholder roles with Dexta/Stardex, where he helped develop one of Australia's first fully automated online technology insurance platforms. He also led AMP's entry into the directors' and officers' liability market as Head of D&O for Australia and New Zealand.
