The line-up includes ‘yarn spinner extraordinaire, Peter Capp. Peter was born in Cooma in the Snowy Mountains in the 1950s. Thirty years on Peter is living in WA, and has found a nicheas a storyteller and poet. His larrikin style had him in high demand at poetry venues such the Leederville Hotel, the West End and Clancy’s Fish Pubboth in Fremantle. He continues to host various poetry and folk events in the city and country towns.
A regular at many country festivals throughout Australia, Peter has won both state and national yarn spinning champion titles. Peter is not only a story teller but has a large repertoire of poetry, both his own and those of others, traditional and contemporary. Peter has had three books published.
Jeff Swain is a wharfie and accomplished performer on several instruments, including the harmonica and banjo. He is a versatile bush poet and also has several published books and CDs.
PhilStrutthas long been known as RottnestIsland'sself- appointedpoetlaureate; with poems covering such gems as ’The Constipated Quokka’ and ’The Guide Who Got Lost’. Phil entertains and delights - ifyouarenotsmilingorlaughing,youare definitely not listening!
Peter Capp said they had a choice of performing at the Sands in Las Vegas orat the winter sunday@subi concert and Subi won three votes to nil.
“Our vast fan base lives around Subiaco, so of course we couldn’t let the fans down!,” Peter said.
“We look forward to sharing our style of Australian humour, song and verse inthis warm community setting," he said.
Tickets are free and are available on the day from 1.15pm, with concerts starting at 2pm and finishing at 3.30pm, including a short break to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine from the Subiaco Arts Centre bar.
