Vocus Communications (ASX:VOC) is delighted to announce that Vocus
CEO, James Spenceley has been named the Eastern winner in the 2010 Ernst
& Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
James Spenceley joins other outstanding
entrepreneurs from across Australia who will compete for the ultimate
prize of being named 2010 Australian Ernst & Young Entrepreneur
of the Year.
In
September 2007, James Spenceley sold his family home to fund a
Telecommunications start-up. Less than three years later, Vocus Communications
owns and operates global voice and data networks to rival many larger
competitors. The Company has over 120 customers, including some of the biggest
Internet brands such as Vodafone, iiNet, Internode, Yahoo and BigAir. The
Company is also renowned for its customer service and performance, with 95% of
customers agreeing they would give more business to Vocus if it offered more
services.
James has been
recognised for the performance of Vocus in its 2.5 years since he founded
the Company.
Listed on the ASX Vocus (ASX:VOC) in July
this year, Vocus recently reported it’s accounts for the year
ending 30 June 2010. EBITDA and Consolidated Profit Before Tax were
$8.15 million and $5.69 million respectively, up641%
and 501% over the previous year.For the full financial year to June 30
2010 Vocus achieved turnover of $17.48 million.
James Spenceley will join his fellow nominees
representing NSW at the national award ceremony on November
24th where the national category winner will be announced.
