Request names Getronics as sole supplier of its broadband installations services

Announcement posted by Request Broadband 26 Mar 2003

Contract identifies monthly installation requirement for 800 to 1,000 new customers increasing steadily over 2003
Request Broadband Pty Ltd (Request), a leading Australian wholesale broadband services provider, has awarded Getronics Australia an additional contract worth between $4.5 and $6 million to become the sole supplier of its broadband installation services in Australia. The new three-year contract will complement Getronics existing support and maintenance contract, which was signed at the beginning of 2002.
Getronics understanding of our business, coupled with its national reach, were major influences in our decision to expand this relationship. A critical part of the deal will involve Getronics integrating their workforce management system with Requests customer provisioning system to speed up installation processes. This will ensure Request is able to deliver on the service level agreements (SLAs) we offer our customers, says Kath Miles, General Manager, Customer Service, Request.
A provider of national broadband Internet protocol (IP) services using IP networking and digital subscriber line (DSL) technology, Request required extra installation support to connect the growing number of business and small office/home office (SOHO) customers who are signing up to its broadband network. Request expects Getronics to install between 800 and 1,000 new customers per month, steadily increasing over the next 12 months.
Under the terms of the contract, Getronics will warehouse and stage Requests DSL routers, which will be configured and distributed to field engineers, ready for installation. Getronics will also track Requests stock of routers and handle maintenance and repairs.
This contract has allowed us to cement our existing relationship with Request. Our national infrastructure, reach and capabilities neatly matches Requests broadband delivery offering, allowing a high level of service to be delivered to their customers, says Jon Marks, National Sales Manager, Services, Getronics.
Request, with its Cisco-powered DSL access and core network deployed around Australia, is one of the fastest growing providers of business-grade broadband IP services with a clear focus on the delivery of managed IP network services for small and medium businesses.
The services enable these businesses to connect to the internet at very high speeds, while simultaneously providing private, secure, high performance IP networking between offices via a single DSL link.
